Sympathetic nature daycare centre Kaisla in Leppävaara
Kaisla, a small and cosy nature daycare centre, opened in August 2022 in Leppävaara, Espoo, with good transport connections. Kaisla offers versatile early childhood education in a functional day care centre with 33 childcare places.
Outdoors in all weathers
The daycare centre has a lovely private courtyard and is located on the edge of a forest in the middle of nature. Nature is an important part of our activities and we go hiking in local parks and forests every week. We value children’s ideas and take them into account in our activities. We also make time for extended play, which we consider an important form of learning.
Kaisla is a nature-oriented daycare, where children learn a positive attitude towards nature and a sustainable lifestyle. The day care centre offers plenty of outdoor activities, regardless of the weather. The activities focus on exploring and wondering about different natural phenomena, regular hiking and nature walks. Inventiveness, recycling and using nature’s own resources for learning and play are an important part of the day-care centre’s daily life.
Diversified activities in line with the early childhood education and care plan
Of course, we also offer other varied activities such as singing sessions, theatre performances, arts and crafts and painting sessions, not to mention rest periods. The pedagogy of everyday life is present in every moment of the nursery. It is about stopping together and wondering about things; counting peas in the salad and playing with colours while painting. We cherish every unhurried moment we get to spend talking, playing and goofing off; exploring the world together.
