Pilke Sinipilvi operates in Viherlaakso, Espoo

Pilke Sinipilvi is an outsourced daycare centre located in the Viherlaakso district of Espoo. We have three groups of children, each of which is managed by two early childhood teachers and one childcarer. The daycare centre’s large yard and location close to nature provide good opportunities for outdoor activities and the exploration of environment.

Outdoors in all weathers

The daycare is very active outdoors, whatever the weather, with an emphasis on exploring, wondering and camping. The forest is a great playground for children, with almost unlimited ideas and opportunities for play, movement and creativity. Experiences of nature during childhood and adolescence have a significant impact throughout human life. Nature provides a rich and stimulating environment for children to move and learn.

A relaxed and warm atmosphere

Sinipilvi has places for 56 children whom the daycare centre provides with a safe, unhurried and genuinely comfortable learning environment where each child is encountered as a unique individual. Children are given time to get accustomed to life at the daycare centre, to learn new things, to explore and to feel cared for. Our educators act as examples for the children, and we maintain a positive atmosphere in all of our groups. Joy and fun are part of everyday life at Sinipilvi. Our aim is to make the children feel welcome and happy.

We operate in small groups

We engage in diverse activities in small groups, applying everyday pedagogy as part of all daily situations. For example, while getting dressed, children are provided with fine opportunities to learn colours as well as linguistic, mathematical, perceptive and social skills such as waiting for one’s turn.
