Pilke Vipinä is a new music-oriented daycare centre in Iisalmi
Pilke’s music-oriented daycare centre Vipinä opened in Iisalmi in August 2018. Vipinä provides high-quality child-centred early childhood education and care for children aged 0–5 years at a warm-spirited daycare centre with 75 daycare places.
The music-oriented daycare centre’s objective is to provide the children with musical experiences, capacities and skills as well as experiences of learning and success. We also encourage the children to start longer-term musical hobbies. The music-oriented education is implemented in the daycare centre’s everyday operation through singing, playing instruments, listening to music, reading rhymes, improvising, exercising and dancing, for example.
In addition, we naturally reserve time for other versatile activities, such as drama, trips, handicraft and painting, not to forget sufficient daily rest. Everyday pedagogy is part of every moment of the daycare centre’s operation. It is present in pausing to wonder things together; counting peas in the salad bowl or experimenting with colours when painting. We value each unhurried moment we get to spend conversating, playing or just being silly while exploring the world together.

Daycare centre doors open. Welcome! We start the day with a hug and have a chat. Then we gradually start to play.
