Daycare Verso – Nature and Movement as Part of Everyday Life

Nature-focused Daycare Verso is located in Keljonkangas, Jyväskylä, in a peaceful setting and a beautiful log-built building. Here, children grow and learn close to nature—safely and as their authentic selves. Verso combines a warm atmosphere, child-centred pedagogy, and a calm, unhurried everyday life.

Nature as a Learning Environment

We go outdoors every day, in all kinds of weather. The forest, yard, and surrounding natural environment offer endless opportunities for exploration and discovery.

Children have opportunities to:

  • Explore natural phenomena and seasonal changes
  • Move and play in the forest
  • Use their imagination with natural materials
  • Learn about sustainable choices through everyday actions
  • Try a wide variety of sports and physical activities

Nature provides a rich environment for learning, movement, and creativity. At the same time, it helps children build a positive relationship with the world around them. Our goal is also to inspire a lifelong joy of movement and support an active lifestyle from an early age.
