Pilke art-oriented daycare centre Aurora

Pilke Aurora is an art and expression-focused daycare that opened in Piispanristi in August 2019.

The purpose of the art and expression emphasis is to strengthen children’s creativity, curiosity, and willingness to experiment. Various forms of expression are integrated into the daycare’s daily activities, including visual, verbal, and physical expression. Music, drama, and crafts are also an essential part of the program.

Versatile Activities Following the Early Childhood Education Plan

Our activities naturally include a variety of other elements, such as physical exercise, excursions, and play – not forgetting moments of rest. Everyday pedagogy is present in every moment at the daycare. It’s about pausing together and marveling at the world: counting peas from a salad or playing with colors while painting. We cherish every unhurried moment spent talking, playing, and being silly together – exploring the world hand in hand.

At Aurora, an early childhood education teacher works in a unique “ope+” role. This teacher strengthens the pedagogical activities of the entire daycare across all child groups and is responsible for developing the daycare’s overall pedagogical approach.
