Pilke art-oriented daycare centre Valo

Pilke’s art-oriented daycare centre Valo opened in a new building on Paloniementie Street in Saaristokaupunki in August 2018. Valo provides high-quality child-centred early childhood education and care for children aged 0–5 years at a warm-spirited daycare centre with 120 daycare places.

Education at daycare centre Valo emphasises arts. The purpose of the art and expression-orientation is to foster the children’s creativity, curiosity and experimental attitude. The various forms of artistic expression are implemented in the daycare centre’s everyday operation through visual, verbal and bodily expression. Our activities also include music and drama as well as trips to museums and exhibitions whenever possible.

In addition, we naturally reserve time for other versatile activities, such as singing, making trips, handicraft and painting, not to forget sufficient daily rest. Everyday pedagogy is part of every moment of the daycare centre’s operation. It is present in pausing to wonder things together; counting peas in the salad bowl or experimenting with colours when painting. We value each unhurried moment we get to spend conversating, playing or just being silly while exploring the world together.

Family café events are organised at daycare centre Valo on Mondays at 14-16.30.  The family café is an open meeting place for children and adults of all ages. The event’s activities include pleasant, relaxed time together, coffee for the parents and games for the children. You don’t have to sign up for the family café.
