Music-oriented daycare centre Pilke Sävelpolku is located in Tupala, Mikkeli
Pilke’s music-oriented daycare centre Sävelpolku opened on Poikolanrinne Street in the Mikkeli district of Tupala in August 2018. Sävelpolku provides high-quality child-centred early childhood education and preschool for children aged 0–6 years at a warm-spirited daycare centre with 60 daycare places.
The music-oriented daycare centre’s objective is to provide the children with musical experiences, capacities and skills as well as experiences of learning and success. We also encourage the children to start longer-term musical hobbies. The music-oriented education is implemented in the daycare centre’s everyday operation through singing, playing instruments, listening to music, reading rhymes, improvising, exercising and dancing, for example.
We naturally reserve time for other versatile activities, such as singing, trips, drama, handicraft and painting, not to forget sufficient daily rest. Everyday pedagogy is part of every moment of our operation. It is present in pausing to wonder things together; counting peas in the salad bowl or experimenting with colours when painting. We value each unhurried moment we get to spend conversating, playing or just being silly while exploring the world together.

Daycare centre doors open. Welcome! We start the day with a hug and have a chat. Then we gradually start to play.

Small group activities indoors and outdoors.

Lunch, followed by a rest. Some of the children sleep or rest while the others go outside. After the rest, it’s time for quiet play and activities.
