Pilke Auringonnousu is located in Harittu, Turku, right on the border of Kaarina, with excellent transport connections. The daycare is surrounded by a მშვიდ, residential area, and a forest begins almost directly from our yard.
Small-group activities where every child is seen
Auringonnousu is a small daycare with only 33 places. Our approach emphasizes small-group activities and individual attention for each child. Our daily activities include a wide variety of play, physical exercise, arts and crafts, and music.
We support each child’s independence skills in an individualized way, and every child is encouraged to be an active and involved member of their group. We work in close partnership with families to ensure that each child’s daycare day is safe, smooth, and positive.

Getting familiar with English
Starting in autumn 2026, our daycare will offer language-enriched early childhood education in English. Together with the children, we’ll practice familiar songs, rhymes, and basic concepts—learning English naturally through singing, playing, and exploring ideas together.
These language-enrichment moments usually take place during the morning circle and are held regularly for all groups. Children will learn things like colors, numbers, animal names, and parts of the body in English.
Language-enriched early education is a lighter approach than full bilingual education. It introduces a new language through play, rhymes, and everyday interaction—almost effortlessly.
Why is language enrichment important?
When children are introduced to different languages early on, they build a strong foundation for future language learning. We encourage children to use English while also recognizing the importance of their native language. A strong first language supports all learning.
Understanding languages and cultures
Language-enriched activities help children understand that the world is full of different languages and cultures. The goal is to strengthen curiosity, confidence, and a positive attitude. Through these activities, children can express themselves both in their native language and in a new one.

At the daycare, breakfast, lunch, and a snack are offered. At Pilke daycares, we provide children with domestic, healthy, and tasty food that is diverse and easy to eat, designed specifically with children’s tastes and textures in mind.
Each of our daycares has a daycare assistant responsible for warming the food and serving other items according to the menu.
During holiday periods, there are fewer children in daycare, as many families are on vacation and children stay at home. For this reason, some of our daycare centers are closed while others remain open.
The open daycare centers operate as on-duty centers, providing care for all children from Pilke daycare centers in the area who need early childhood education.
These on-duty centers are staffed by Pilke’s own early childhood educators from various daycare centers in the same region.
We inform families well in advance about holiday opening hours and which Pilke daycare centers in the area will be open.
