Pilke Music Daycare Rytmi – Learning and Growing Through the Joy of Music

Pilke Daycare Rytmi is conveniently located in the Murtosenmutka area of Pori, with excellent transport connections.

At Music Daycare Rytmi, we provide a safe, inspiring environment for children aged 0–6, where music is naturally woven into everyday life. We encourage every child to explore, experience, and learn at their own pace. Our daycare also offers preschool education.

Music Shapes Every Day

At Music Daycare Rytmi, music plays a central role as an educational tool.

Children are naturally drawn to music, and research has shown that it supports many areas of child development. Throughout the day, music provides rhythm and structure, inspires creativity, promotes calm, brings joy, and offers comfort.

At Rytmi, music is part of everyday learning and self-expression. Children sing, dance, recite rhymes, and express themselves creatively through music. We also use music to help children learn everyday concepts such as the days of the week, numbers, colours, and the seasons.

In addition, children develop an understanding of musical elements, instruments, and the many ways music can enrich learning, creativity, and personal growth.

Music in All Its Forms

At Music Daycare Rytmi, we value children's interests and encourage them to explore a wide variety of music and ways of making it—whether by playing instruments or creating rhythms with their own bodies.

Music is a natural part of every moment of the day. It accompanies both indoor and outdoor activities, music and movement sessions, spontaneous singing, potty time, getting dressed, and everyday routines. Educators may sing simple prompts such as "it's time to wash your hands" or soothe children with lullabies before naptime. Through making music together, children also learn important social skills such as listening to others and taking turns.

Playing instruments helps develop both fine and gross motor skills. Children practise keeping a steady beat through movement, singing, and instrumental play, while interactive singing games remain a favourite activity for many.

Through playful musical experiences, children strengthen their musical memory and listening skills. Activities such as clapping syllables and moving to the rhythm of music also support language development and help children build awareness of the sounds and rhythms of their native language.
