Music-oriented daycare centre Pilke Kannel opened in Kangasala in August 2017
Pilke’s music-oriented daycare centre Kannel opened on Rataniityntie Street in Kangasala in August 2017. The daycare centre has 60 places for children aged 0–5 years.
The music-oriented daycare centre’s objective is to provide the children with musical experiences, capacities and skills as well as experiences of learning and success. We also encourage the children to start longer-term musical hobbies. The music-oriented education is implemented in the daycare centre’s everyday operation through singing, playing instruments, listening to music, reading rhymes, improvising, exercising and dancing, for example.
In addition, we naturally reserve time for other versatile activities, such as drama, trips, handicraft and painting, not to forget sufficient daily rest. Everyday pedagogy is part of every moment of the daycare centre’s operation. It is present in pausing to wonder things together; counting peas in the salad bowl or experimenting with colours when painting. We value each unhurried moment we get to spend conversating, playing or just being silly while exploring the world together.
