The fee is determined based on the value of the service voucher, which depends on the family size, income, and the child’s early childhood education hours.

Daisy is our communication and information channel between home and daycare. We use Daisy to communicate, for example, about events and news from the daycare.
Families use Daisy to send us information such as childcare bookings and absence notifications.

Pilke Nature Daycare Kuura opened in Kontiolahti in autumn 2020. Daycare Kuura provides high-quality, child-centered early childhood education in a warm, log-built environment, where children can enjoy fresh indoor air, excellent acoustics, and the calm, peaceful atmosphere created by solid wood.

At Kuura, outdoor activities are an essential part of everyday life, regardless of the weather. The program emphasizes exploring and marveling at natural phenomena and going on excursions. Play, collaboration, and listening to children’s ideas guide our activities, with the child’s daily experiences serving as a starting point for learning. Creativity, recycling, and using natural materials as learning tools and play equipment are important aspects of life at our nature-focused daycare.

Diverse Activities in Line with the Early Childhood Education Plan
Our activities include a wide range of experiences outlined in the early childhood education plan, such as singing sessions, theatre performances, arts and crafts, and painting—without forgetting moments of rest. At our daycare, every child has a voice. In our full-day pedagogy, children’s wishes, needs, and interests are actively and thoughtfully incorporated into planning.

Example of the daily routine at daycare

Daycare centre doors open. Welcome! We start the day with a hug and have a chat. Then we gradually start to play.

Breakfast

Small group activities indoors and outdoors.

Lunch, followed by a rest. Some of the children sleep or rest while the others go outside. After the rest, it’s time for quiet play and activities.
