Sports-oriented daycare centre Pilke Hyppyri opened in central Lahti in August 2019

Pilke’s sports-oriented daycare centre Hyppyri opened at Vuorikatu 7 in completely refurbished, magnificent premises in the centre of Lahti in August 2019. The daycare centre’s tall windows light the interior in a beautiful, natural manner, allowing the light to shine through the daycare centre’s spacious, bright rooms.

Hyppyri is a sports-oriented daycare centre that provides high-quality child-centred early childhood education and care for children aged 0–6 years. Our objective is to help the children find the joy of exercise and adopt a sporty lifestyle. The sports-orientation is implemented in the daycare centre’s everyday operation through trips, daily yard games, weekly musical movement activities and instructed exercise. We also provide the children with opportunities to try various sports, such as swimming, junior wrestling and cycling.

The daycare centre’s operation naturally includes also other versatile activities, such as singing, drama, handicraft and painting, not to forget sufficient daily rest. Everyday pedagogy is part of every moment of our operation. It is present in pausing to wonder things together; counting peas in the salad bowl or experimenting with colours when painting. We value each unhurried moment we get to spend conversating, playing or just being silly while exploring the world together.
