Registration for preschool education for the academic year 2024-2025 can be done by submitting an electronic application on 8.-21.1.2024 in the eVaka service at ouka.fi/esiopetus
Daisy is our communication and information channel between home and daycare. We use Daisy to communicate, for example, about events and news from the daycare.
Families use Daisy to send us information such as childcare bookings and absence notifications.
Daycare centre Pilke Wilhelmiina operates in two buildings in Haukipudas, Oulu
Pilke Wilhelmiina is located in the Haapakangas II area of Haukipudas. The daycare centre’s intimate A and B buildings share the same yard. Both of the buildings house one of the cooperative daycare units, each of which has 35 daycare places. Wilhelmiina also provides pre-primary education. Our location offers excellent transport connections to those travelling to the City of Oulu or the Municipality of Ii, for example.
We wish to provide the children with a homelike, safe learning environment. Wilhelmiina has a spacious, well-equipped yard, and we often make trips to the nearby playground and the Torpanmäki sports grounds. In addition, cross country skiing tracks run right by the daycare centre in the winter.
At Wilhelmiina, we ensure that the children have plenty of time for play. As play is an essential part of children’s lives, our educators use play as a means to support the children’s growth and development. We believe that play motivates children to learn even things that might feel unpleasant at first.
Play enables the practise of almost anything: social skills, self-expression, basic everyday activities, motor skills and compliance with rules and instructions. Our educators build the play environments together with the children. They monitor and instruct the children’s play and participate in it. For us, ensuring that the children enjoy their time at daycare is like child’s play!

Daycare centre doors open. Welcome! We start the day with a hug and have a chat. Then we gradually start to play.
