The fee is determined based on the value of the service voucher, which depends on the family size, income, and the child’s early childhood education hours.
You can apply for a daycare placement with a service voucher through the City of Turku’s website. Please also fill in the application for early childhood education at Pilke daycare centers.
You can also apply for daycare using private childcare allowance; in that case, you should also complete Pilke’s early childhood education application.

Daisy is our communication and information channel between home and daycare. We use Daisy to communicate, for example, about events and news from the daycare.

Pilke Daycare Sinikello Has a Long Tradition in Music Education
Pilke Sinikello is a music-oriented daycare that has been operating in Turku since 1963. It is located close to the city center, near the bus station, and children also attend from nearby municipalities.
Sinikello is a small, community-oriented daycare where every child is genuinely seen and valued. Our child-centered daily life is filled with warmth, joy, learning, and discoveries.
At Sinikello, a safe and nurturing growth environment is created for the daycare’s “little flowers”—Vuokot (Anemones), Kissantassut (Pussytoes), Orvokit (Pansies), and Esikot (Primroses). This provides a strong foundation for sustainable growth and flourishing. When roots are firmly grounded, even strong winds will not easily shake them in the future.

Every Child Can Express Themselves Through Music
Our shared activities include music sessions led by professionals for all children, as well as dance classes from around the age of three. In addition, the daycare staff organize group singing, play, and physical activity sessions.
Preschool children also have the opportunity to receive instrument instruction on the kantele or recorder. Piano lessons are also available during the daycare day.

Typically, families start looking for and applying to daycare about 4–10 months before the planned start of early childhood education.
However, we recommend submitting your application as soon as possible. This helps us to ensure your child gets a place at your chosen daycare center and is able to start at a time that suits your family.

At the daycare, breakfast, lunch, and a snack are offered. At Pilke daycares, we provide children with domestic, healthy, and tasty food that is diverse and easy to eat, designed specifically with children’s tastes and textures in mind.
Each of our daycares has a daycare assistant responsible for warming the food and serving other items according to the menu.
During holiday periods, there are fewer children in daycare, as many families are on vacation and children stay at home. For this reason, some of our daycare centers are closed while others remain open.
The open daycare centers operate as on-duty centers, providing care for all children from Pilke daycare centers in the area who need early childhood education.
These on-duty centers are staffed by Pilke’s own early childhood educators from various daycare centers in the same region.
We inform families well in advance about holiday opening hours and which Pilke daycare centers in the area will be open.
