Pilke Nature-Oriented Daycare Oivallus in Päiväkumpu
Pilke Nature-Oriented Daycare Oivallus is located in Päiväkumpu on Tuovintie, with convenient bus connections, in a peaceful residential area where children can enjoy forest adventures and play in nearby playgrounds.
We inspire children to learn, discover, and experience success without ready-made answers. Our daily routines make time for long-lasting play, which we value as an important way of learning. We read to children often, and library visits are a meaningful part of our everyday life. We cherish gentle, attentive interaction and create an environment where children not only gain knowledge and skills but also learn to face the world with kindness and compassion.
Outdoor play in all weathers
Oivallus is a nature-oriented daycare where children develop a positive attitude towards nature and a sustainable way of life. We spend plenty of time outdoors regardless of the weather. Exploring natural phenomena, regular excursions, and movement in nature are central to our activities. Creativity, recycling, and using nature’s own treasures in play and learning are an essential part of our everyday life.
Frequent adventures in nearby nature
Our daycare has its own sheltered yard and excellent outdoor areas nearby. We explore and go on excursions in the surrounding environment, such as forests and parks, expanding the children’s learning environment. The area offers diverse opportunities to study the cycle of nature and the changing seasons. Our preschool group follows a customized At Home in Nature pedagogy, with most preschool activities taking place outdoors.

At the Vantaa Pilke units, we also offer families the following:
- We often go on snack excursions.
- We take annual daycare photos of the children and groups. Some of the photos are free of charge for families.
- Throughout the year, we organize many events for both the daycare and the whole family. Sometimes, we also invite grandparents and other close relatives.
- Celebrations are important to us: we usually hold spring and Christmas parties as performances, and we celebrate each child's birthday, as well as Father’s Day and Mother’s Day.
- Many of our daycare centers have an active parent committee that anyone interested is welcome to join.
- You can follow the activities of our children’s groups on Instagram.
