The ICEC daycare centers follows both the Finnish national early childhood education plan and the English EYFS curricula. The daycare center’s activities emphasize children’s creativity, play, multiculturalism, and inclusive learning.

Greetings from the Manager of ICEC Kauniainen!
I am Andrea, the manager of ICEC Kauniainen, where I have been working since we opened our doors in 2021. My passion for early childhood education and love for nature drive me to create a nurturing and enriching environment for all the children in our care.
I truly appreciate the unique setting of Kauniainen, where the natural surroundings offer endless opportunities for children to learn and explore. Despite being part of the capital region, Kauniainen maintains a small-town feel with a close-knit community, which is evident in the many events organized for daycares and schools.
Before moving to Finland at the beginning of 2020, I lived and worked in a daycare in Ireland, where I also studied early childhood education. Last year I graduated from Laurea as an early childhood education sosionomi.
One of my key interests is sensory activities, which help children discover their environment through their senses. These activities encourage children to explore and engage with the world around them in a meaningful way.
As a manager and colleague, people describe me as a dedicated, compassionate and organized person who people can trust and count on. I am proud to lead our team at ICEC Kauniainen where fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere for both children and staff is a top priority.

Daycare centre doors open. Welcome! We start the day with a hug and have a chat. Then we gradually start to play.

Today was full of fun and mischief as we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at the daycare! Every group joined in the festivities:
🎨 Our tiniest artists got creative with festive arts and crafts.
👀 Little explorers engaged in a fun sensory activity.
🕵️♂️ And the biggest surprise? A leprechaun visited our older groups—leaving behind footprints and a BIG mess! The children spent the whole day searching, but that sneaky little leprechaun was nowhere to be found!
Today, we combined fun and discovery, sparking their curiosity about St. Patrick’s Day ☘️ 💚

There was running, passing, cheering, and plenty of goals — with teamwork as strong as a swan’s wings and as quick as a fox’s feet! 🥅⚡
What a fantastic day full of fun, movement, and big smiles!
