High-Quality Early Childhood Education and Preschool with 30 Years of Experience
ICEC Kilo, our English-language daycare, is located on Siuntiontie, surrounded by beautiful forest landscapes. The nearby woods, along with our own yard, serve as an inspiring learning environment for the children.
At ICEC daycare centers, we follow the Finnish National Core Curriculum for Early Childhood Education and Care in an international setting. Our daily activities emphasize creativity, play, multiculturalism, and inclusive learning.
An English-Speaking Daycare that Supports Language Development
In an English-speaking daycare, children grow in a multicultural, international environment that naturally supports language development. We encourage and strengthen language skills through positive methods like songs, stories, and play.
We recognize and value different ethnic backgrounds and celebrate cultural events from around the world. Our annual celebrations include Diwali, Chinese New Year, Hanukkah, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and many others.
At ICEC, children explore, wonder, and experience joy and discovery in a rich linguistic and cultural environment. Our goal is to introduce children to diverse cultures and help them grow into curious global citizens with open hearts and minds.
Also in Finnish
In August 2025, we will open a new bilingual (Finnish-English) group, offering the opportunity for instruction in both languages. In this bilingual setting, children learn Finnish or English through active, playful experiences, laying a strong foundation for lifelong language learning. The goal is to spark children’s curiosity and willingness to experiment with language in a multilingual environment.

I have been part of the ICEC since 1994. I have been in management in various different role s since 1995. My background education is that of Kindergarten teacher. I have educated myself further and for many years assessed and verified a UK early years qualification. Most recently I topped up my knowledge in Children’s rights and participation from Jyväskylä University. I have also partcipated in research concerning children’s language development and cultural identit.
I grew up in South London in a multicultural and diverse community but moved back to my birth country Finland in 1987. My own background helps me to understand the development of bilingual and multilingual children.
I love to develop the creativity of children through dance and music. Children’s literature also always inspires me. The importance of these I can never talk enough of.
