Fees

Our daycare center accepts service vouchers issued by the City of Espoo. Read more here!

The customer fee is €0–311 per month, which is the same as for municipal early childhood education.

The customer fee is determined based on the value of the service voucher, which is affected by the size of the family, income, and the child’s early childhood education hours.

The daycare center is participating in the City of Espoo’s trial of 20 hours of free early childhood education per week for 5-year-olds. Ask the daycare center director for more information.

Small and cozy bilingual daycare in Matinkylä

Playschool Kattimatti is a bilingual (Finnish–English), international daycare located in Matinkylä, offering high-quality, child-centred early childhood education and pre-primary education for children aged 0–6.

Pre-primary education is also bilingual and is provided in both Finnish and English. The purpose of pre-primary education is to give children the skills and readiness to transition to basic education. You are welcome to contact the director for more information about pre-primary education—she will be happy to answer your questions.

A foundation for lifelong language learning

In the English-language groups, we implement extensive bilingual early childhood education in accordance with the new National Core Curriculum for Early Childhood Education and Care.

The goal of bilingual early childhood education is to make use of children’s sensitive period for early language learning by offering richer and more versatile language exposure than usual. Children are given opportunities to acquire languages and use them in practical, playful, and activity-based ways, while laying the foundation for lifelong language learning.

Our aim is that activities in a multilingual environment spark children’s linguistic curiosity and willingness to experiment. At the same time, diverse cultures naturally come together in this form of early childhood education.
