GroupsThe client price for the daycare is affected by the private day care allowance granted by Kela. The client fee may be reduced by an income-based care supplement; please check Kela’s updated income limits here. After the allowances you receive, our full-time early childhood education fee is between €34.15 and €360 per month.

Sibling discount: €150. Our daycare offers 4 hours of free early childhood education for 5-year-olds, and in addition, the City of Helsinki supports families with 5-year-olds with €60 per month. Please ask the daycare director for more information.

Daisy is our communication and information channel between home and daycare. We use Daisy to communicate, for example, about events and news from the daycare.
Families use Daisy to send us information such as childcare bookings and absence notifications.
Taikamaa is a small and cosy nature-oriented daycare centre in Ruskeasuo
Pilke Taikamaa is located by excellent transport connections on Mannerheimintie Street in the Helsinki district of Ruskeasuo. We make weekly trips to our close surroundings that include a forest and playgrounds, for example. At Taikamaa, children learn through play, exploration, hands-on activities, exercise and contemplation – together with others.
Taikamaa is a small and charming day care centre with a cosy atmosphere. We learn by playing, exploring, doing, moving and thinking – together with others. We foster gentle, present interactions and create conditions where children learn not only knowledge and skills, but also how to face the world with kindness and heart.
Excursions are part of our everyday life
A new nature focus has been introduced in Taikamaa from autumn 2024. In nature-focused early childhood education, we spend a lot of time outdoors, regardless of the weather. Nature education is reflected in our everyday life by hiking in the forest and the local environment, studying natural phenomena, learning about sustainable lifestyle goals and having a positive attitude towards nature.
The forest is a great playground for children, with almost limitless ideas and opportunities for play, movement and creativity. Experiences of nature during childhood and adolescence have a significant impact throughout human life.

Quality early childhood education through continuous pedagogical development
At Taikamaa, early childhood teachers work in a new kind of ope+ role. They strengthens the pedagogical activities of the whole daycare centre in each group of children and is responsible for the pedagogical development of the whole daycare. For more information on our new teacher role, click here.

Daycare centre doors open. Welcome! We start the day with a hug and have a chat. Then we gradually start to play.

Small group activities indoors and outdoors.
