Pilke’s music-oriented daycare centre Hepokatti opened in 2017. We have 72 daycare places for children aged 0–6 years, and we also provide pre-primary education.
Music is part of everyday life at Hepokatti. For us, music is not just singing and playing. It also encompasses silence, motion, forms and colours. Our objective is to light the spark of musical enthusiasm in the children by exploring, wondering and most of all, listening to music and the world of sounds.
We want to give room to the children’s voices and ideas and for that reason, versatile use and adaptability of the daycare centre’s facilities is of utmost importance. Thus, our operation is based on small group activities and operational space-oriented thinking. This means that we stagger the activities that take place in the music room, the gym and the handicraft room. In addition, we make use of the nearby forests and playgrounds. In accordance with the principles of everyday pedagogy, each short moment with a child is a learning opportunity – it’s always good to count the toes before putting on socks!
At Hepokatti, we wish to ensure that children always feel welcome and safe and have opportunities to explore, wonder, listen and make music!

Daycare centre doors open. Welcome! We start the day with a hug and have a chat. Then we gradually start to play.
