Daisy is our communication and information channel between home and daycare. We use Daisy to communicate, for example, about events and news from the daycare.
Families use Daisy to send us information such as childcare bookings and absence notifications.

Pilke Science Daycare Loiste is located on Aallontie in Joensuu’s Rantakylä. In this warm and welcoming daycare, we also provide high-quality pre-primary education, which consistently receives positive feedback from families.
Children Learn to Discover
Pilke Loiste is a science-oriented daycare where the science focus is implemented through comprehensive exploration of the child’s immediate surroundings. Play, creativity, and sensory experiences provide excellent opportunities to practice scientific thinking, which supports memory and learning skills. Children learn through play to explore, experiment, and experience success. Science education for children under three is based on sensory experiences, observation, curiosity, questioning, stories, and fairy tales.
Finnish as a Second Language
We also offer Finnish as a Second Language (S2) instruction. Children learn Finnish in a safe and supportive environment, while their home language and culture are respected. In everyday activities, we also communicate fluently in English.

Exploration Lab for Little Scientists
The learning environment at our science daycare encourages and inspires children to explore and experiment. Children have access to a dedicated space equipped with tools such as magnifying glasses, hand lenses, pipettes, microscopes, and a light table. The daycare’s outdoor area and surrounding environment also provide excellent opportunities for investigation and discovery.

Daycare centre doors open. Welcome! We start the day with a hug and have a chat. Then we gradually start to play.

Breakfast

Small group activities indoors and outdoors.

Lunch, followed by a rest. Some of the children sleep or rest while the others go outside. After the rest, it’s time for quiet play and activities.
