Daisy is our communication and information channel between home and daycare. We use Daisy to communicate, for example, about events and news from the daycare.
Families use Daisy to send us information such as childcare bookings and absence notifications.
Swedish-Speaking Pilke Äppelbo
Pilke Äppelbo daycare is a small Swedish-speaking unit of Pilke daycare centers located in Turku. Äppelbo is a warm and welcoming 33-place daycare in an urban environment, featuring bright and spacious facilities along with a sunny and sheltered yard. The daycare has excellent transport connections to places like Hirvensalo’s natural areas and Turku city center.
Excursions Are Part of Our Daily Life
At the daycare, children spend a lot of time outdoors, regardless of the weather. The activities emphasize exploring and marveling at various natural phenomena as well as going on excursions.
The forest is an excellent playground for children, offering nearly endless ideas and opportunities for play, movement, and creativity. Experiences in nature during childhood and youth have a significant impact throughout a person’s life. Nature provides a versatile and inspiring environment for children’s physical activity and learning. Äppelbo also offers “Metsämörri” activities, which encourage children to play, move, explore, and discover in nearby natural areas.

Our goal is to have fun together with the children, provide them with a safe and stress-free play environment, and give them time and space for their play. We also aim to bring the joy of music through songs and rhythms and explore the local surroundings and nature together with the children.

Daycare centre doors open. Welcome! We start the day with a hug and have a chat. Then we gradually start to play.

Breakfast

Small group activities indoors and outdoors.

Lunch, followed by a rest. Some of the children sleep or rest while the others go outside. After the rest, it’s time for quiet play and activities.
