The daycare centre participates in the City of Espoo’s trial in which 20 weekly hours of early childhood education and care are offered for five-year-olds free of charge. Please inquire for further details from the daycare centre manager.

Pilke Aftonstjärnan is a pleasant Swedish-speaking daycare centre in Espoo
Aftonstjärnan is a Swedish-speaking outsourced daycare centre in the Espoo district of Leppävaara. Aftonstjärnan is a small, homelike daycare centre with places for 24 children and almost 20 years of tradition in Espoo-based Swedish-speaking early childhood education and care. The daycare centre offers early childhood education for children aged 1–5 years.
The daycare centre’s objective is to help children develop into independent, capable individuals ready to take responsibility for their actions and the environment. We aim to provide the children with a deeper understanding of their skills and the opportunity to develop them.
Aftonstjärnan’s operation is based on small group activities in order to allow each child to be treated as an individual who learns new skills in their own way. The small groups are formed on the basis of age and stage of development. At Aftonstjärnan, each child has the right to feel the comfort of a safe hug and intimacy.
