The daycare customer fee is affected by the private daycare allowance granted by Kela, the child’s age, and the length of care. After the allowances you receive, our customer fee for full-time early childhood education will range from €174,15 to €570 per month. The customer fee may be further reduced by an income-related care supplement — please check Kela’s updated income limits here.

At our daycare, we offer 4 hours of free early childhood education for 5-year-olds. In addition, the City of Helsinki supports families with 5-year-olds with €160 per month. For more information, please contact the daycare manager.

Playschool Meilahti (formerly ICEC Meilahti) is a small English-language day care centre located on Kallioportaankatu with good transport connections. The kindergarten is divided into two buildings, one for children aged 1-4 and the other for pre-school age children.
The Playschool Meilahti Nursery is located at Kallioportaankatu 7 and provides early childhood education in English for children aged 1-4 years. The Playschool Meilahti Schoolroom at Kallioportaankatu 1 provides half-day pre-school education for children aged 5 to 6 from the Helsinki English School.
English–language kindergarten enables language development
The English–language kindergarten allows children to grow up in a multicultural, international environment, which contributes to activating language development. We want to bring the English language to life by telling, showing and sharing information that is interesting to children. We strengthen and encourage children‘s language development through positive practices, such as games and songs. Children also like to share things, so that their own will encourages them to speak a foreign language.
We understand different ethnic backgrounds and take cultural events into account. We celebrate many international holidays such as diwali, Chinese New Year, Hanukkah, Thanksgiving, Christmas and so on.
At Playschool , children are encouraged to explore, wonder, celebrate, and discover the world around them—both linguistically and culturally. Our goal is to introduce children to different cultures and help them grow into curious global citizens with open hearts and open minds.

Daycare centre doors open. Welcome! We start the day with a hug and have a chat. Then we gradually start to play.
