The customer fee may be further reduced by an income-related care supplement — please check Kela’s updated income limits here. After the allowances you receive, our customer fee for full-time early childhood education will range from €0 to €325 per month starting from August 1, 2025.

The Pilke daycare centre Taikapirtti is located in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, at Konalantie 6, 00370 Helsinki, with excellent transport connections. Taikapirtti provides high-quality, child-centred early childhood education and preschool education for children aged 0–6.
At Taikapirtti, children play, sing, and stay active every day. The daycare features its own gymnasium and a large playground. We place strong emphasis on a calm play environment, where children are guided to act as members of a group and to show consideration for others.

Getting familiar with the English language
Our daycare provides English-enriched early childhood education and, when needed, preschool education.
Together with the children, we practise familiar songs, rhymes, and concepts by singing and exploring them in English.
English-enriched early childhood education is a lighter alternative to bilingual education. Its aim is to support language learning, motivate children, and broaden their language choices. It can also serve as a pathway to more extensive language-enriched programmes, language immersion, or other forms of bilingual pre-primary and basic education.

Typically, families start looking for and applying to daycare about 4–10 months before the planned start of early childhood education.
However, we recommend submitting your application as soon as possible. This helps us to ensure your child gets a place at your chosen daycare center and is able to start at a time that suits your family.

At the daycare, breakfast, lunch, and a snack are offered. At Pilke daycares, we provide children with domestic, healthy, and tasty food that is diverse and easy to eat, designed specifically with children’s tastes and textures in mind.
Each of our daycares has a daycare assistant responsible for warming the food and serving other items according to the menu.
During holiday periods, there are fewer children in daycare, as many families are on vacation and children stay at home. For this reason, some of our daycare centers are closed while others remain open.
The open daycare centers operate as on-duty centers, providing care for all children from Pilke daycare centers in the area who need early childhood education.
These on-duty centers are staffed by Pilke’s own early childhood educators from various daycare centers in the same region.
We inform families well in advance about holiday opening hours and which Pilke daycare centers in the area will be open.
