Pilke Kolibridalen

The Swedish-speaking caycare centre Kolibridalen was transferred to Pilke Daycare Centres’ ownership in December 2017. Kolibridalen is a  homelike daycare centre with places for 65 children and over 20 years of tradition in Vaasa-based Swedish-speaking early childhood education and care. We offer early childhood education for children aged 1–5 years.

Our objective is to provide all children with the opportunity to develop and learn new things at their own pace in a safe, positive and stress-free atmosphere. We find it important to teach the children to be considerate towards their fellow persons at the daycare centre. The best way to achieve this is to operate in small groups most of the time so that our pedagogues can attend to each child and consider their needs individually. We wish to ensure that the children feel and sense our care, presence and genuine interest in their ideas. Intimacy, safety and the availability of warm hugs are important elements of a learning environment where play, learning and time spent together are fun. Effective cooperation between families and the daycare centre personnel lay a strong foundation for functional operation, providing the best capacities to work for the benefit of the children.

The children are cared for by ten professionals with educational responsibility. Our tasty meals are prepared by Feelia, and breakfasts and snacks are prepared at the daycare centre. Come visit us to experience our pleasant atmosphere!
