Our daycare center uses a service voucher from the city of Espoo. Read more here!

From 1.8.2024, the client fee as its highest is 331€/month with the Espoo service voucher. Service voucher and daycare hours may affect to the fee.

The daycare centre participates in the City of Espoo’s trial in which 20 weekly hours of early childhood education and care are offered for five-year-olds free of charge. Please inquire for further details from the daycare centre manager.

Daisy Family

Daisy is our communication and information channel between home and daycare. We use Daisy to communicate, for example, about events and news from the daycare.

Families use Daisy to send us information such as childcare bookings and absence notifications.

Our spacious daycare facilities give children room to move and play as much as they like, but also allow for quiet and peaceful small group play.

The daycare also has English-speaking groups, where early education is provided in English. There is also the possibility of pre-school education. Ask the manager for more information.

The varied joys of exercise

The aim of the daycare is to discover the joys of physical activity and a physical lifestyle. The emphasis on physical activity is implemented in the day-to-day life of the day-care centre, for example through excursions, daily yard games, weekly physical music sessions and guided physical activity sessions. We also experiment with a wide range of sports, such as swimming, snack wrestling and cycling. The day care centre also offers the opportunity to take part in the basic art classes offered by the Espoo Dance Academy.

Active hiking in the local countryside

In our large playground you will find climbing frames and sandpits for all kinds of play. We even have our own blueberry cones and currant bushes. Just on the other side of the gate is the forest, which we use every week. In the surrounding area you will also find a residential park, a nature house, a seaside and a bird tower. The surroundings of Laajalahti offer excellent opportunities for hiking with children in the local nature.

Diversified activities in line with the early childhood education and care plan


Of course, there are also other varied activities such as singing sessions, theatre performances, arts and crafts and painting sessions, not to mention rest periods. The pedagogy of everyday life is present in every moment of the daycare. It is about stopping together and wondering about things; counting peas in the salad and playing with colours while painting. We cherish every unhurried moment we get to spend talking, playing and goofing off; exploring the world together.

Family café on Tuesdays!

Pilke Laajalahti has a family café, which is an open meeting place for children of all ages and parents. There is no need to register for the café, you can come when it suits your schedule. You can join us for a nice and relaxed time together, enjoying a cup of coffee and playing with your children.

The family café will start on Tuesday 3 December at 9-10:30 and will be open every Tuesday from then on. We welcome you to visit the nursery and other families with children in the area!

Please note: the family café is on Christmas break in weeks 52 and 1.
