Pilke Kielo is a small and homelike nature-oriented daycare centre for 30 children in Simonkylä, Vantaa.
Daycare centre Kielo is located within a walking distance from forests, parks and beautiful landscapes around three small lakes. In the wintertime, the surroundings offer excellent opportunities for sled sliding, skiing and skating. At the nature-oriented daycare centre, the children learn a positive attitude towards nature, outdoor activities and a sustainable lifestyle.
Kielo provides high-quality child-centred early childhood education and care in a welcoming atmosphere. We encounter each child genuinely, taking account of their individual needs. Our operation is characterised by an unhurried atmosphere, the joy of active life and good humour. The operation is based on play, common activities and paying attention to the children’s ideas. Everyday phenomena experienced and perceived by the children form the cornerstone of learning. Imagination, recycling, regular nature trips and the use of nature’s gifts as part of play and learning are an integral part of the everyday life at Kielo.

Daycare centre doors open. Welcome! We start the day with a hug and have a chat. Then we gradually start to play.

Breakfast

Small group activities indoors and outdoors.

Lunch, followed by a rest. Some of the children sleep or rest while the others go outside. After the rest, it’s time for quiet play and activities.
